Resources for Safety Improvement Measures in Healthcare Settings

Patient safety is a nursing practice principle that promotes accountability during the delivery of all care services, including medication administration in all clinical and non-clinical settings. While most practitioners have taken relevant measures to ensure the safe delivery of drugs to patients, medication errors remain the leading source of patient safety problems in health care industry. Therefore, this topic is important to address to bring the awareness of patient safety caused by medication administration. This improvement plan tool kit will include general organizational safety and quality best practices, environmental safety and quality risks, staff-led preventive strategies, and best practices for reporting and improving environmental safety issues. All these four categories would include three annotations.
